Seroepidemiologies of human metapneumovirus and respiratory syncytial virus in young children, determined with a new recombinant fusion protein enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

چکیده
We compared antibodies against human metapneumovirus (HMPV) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in children. The antibody nadirs for both viruses were at 3 to 5 months, and the majority of children were seropositive for both by 2 years. There was no significant difference in the kinetics of maternal antibody decline or seroconversion relative to the two viruses.

Pneumoviruses: Molecular Genetics and Reverse Genetics
Pneumoviruses are responsible for significant respiratory disease in their hosts and represent a major problemfor human and animal health. Pneumoviruses are members of the family Paramyxoviridae, subfamilyPneumovirinae and the virus particles consist of a negative-sense, nonsegmented RNA genome within a helical nucleocapsid structure enveloped in a lipid membrane derived from the ho...
متن کاملDevelopment and validation of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for human metapneumovirus serology based on a recombinant viral protein.
The human metapneumovirus (hMPV) is a newly reported respiratory virus belonging to the Paramyxoviridae family that has been associated with bronchiolitis and pneumonia in young children. We developed a simple enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for hMPV serological testing using the nucleoprotein (N) from group A or B (N-A or N-B) as the antigen, and we evaluated it in both children and ...
متن کاملProduction and Evaluation of Polyclonal Rabbit Anti-Human p53 Antibody Using Bacterially Expressed Glutathione S-transferase-p53 fusion protein
p53 is a key tumor suppressor gene that is targeted for inactivation during human tumorigenesis. In this study, we produced and characterized polyclonal antihuman p53 antibody. The cDNA encoding the completehuman p53 protein was cloned into pGEX-4T-1 and expressed in Escherichia coli as a fusion protein with Schistosoma japonicum glutathione S-transferase (GST). The rabbits were immunized...

Background/Objective: Development of a new enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for screening human blood serum and plasma for antibodies to human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV1) and type 2 (HIV2) as HIV1/2REC ELISA diagnostic kit based on E. coli derived soluble recombinant proteins. Methods: Polypeptides corresponding to HIV1 gp41 and HIV2 gp36 immunodominant regions and HIV1 gag we...
متن کامل(F) protein and lay a foundation for the construction of a genetically engineered vaccine and rapid clinical detection, the F protein of the human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) was expressed and purified, and a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method
In order to increase the expression of the fusion (F) protein and lay a foundation for the construction of a genetically engineered vaccine and rapid clinical detection, the F protein of the human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) was expressed and purified, and a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method was established. The F1 fragment of the HRSV F protein was amplified foll...
